Update : 25 Feb 2024, 02:52 PM

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister and Awami League presidium member Lt Col (retd) Faruq Khan said that work is going on to ensure that the Pilkhana murder case is properly investigated.

He said these things to reporters after paying tribute to the Pilkhana massacre martyrs at Banani military cemetery in the capital on Sunday.

Faruq said: "From our great liberation war to the assassination of Bangabandhu – we are looking into the mastermind behind everything. We know who was behind the February 25 incident. Shortly before the incident, Khaleda Zia left the house in a car without any escort. This proves that she knew the incident would happen.”

The tourism minister added: “The incident of BDR insurgency and brutal killing of our armed forces officers is sad for this country and the whole world. For this, the government has already formed a committee and investigated. It is under trial.”

He further said: “There have been two cases, you know all of them. The rules of justice must be observed. From what I heard, the trial process is nearing its end. On behalf of the families of the victims of murder and on behalf of our party, we demand that there be a speedy resolution.”

Faruq Khan assured that severe punishment would be imposed on those involved, emphasizing measures to prevent such incidents from occurring again in Bangladesh.
