A court on Sunday granted a remand of two days for questioning a man arrested for trying to enter the cabin of BNP chief Khaleda Zia under treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farah Diba Chanda passed the order after the police produced him before the court pleading for a five-day remand.
After the hearing, the magistrate granted the police two days to question him in custody.
The man, Sujan, was detained for trying to enter Khaleda Zia’s hospital cabin without permission on Saturday. He was turned over to the police by hospital authorities.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi expressed deep concern about the attempt.
