Chhatra Dal leaders and activists of various institutions and police stations staged protests in different areas of the capital from Wednesday morning to observe the eighth round of the 24-hour blockade program called by BNP to demand the resignation of the Awami League government.
Jagannath University Chhatra Dal leaders and activists conducted a protest march on Dayaganj Road at 7am.
The procession, led by Chhatra Dal President Md Asaduzzaman Aslam and General Secretary Sujan Mollah, circled different roads before concluding.
Meanwhile, another group of Chhatra Dal held a demonstration in support of the blockade in the Science Lab area.
Chhatra Dal Central Union Joint Secretary General Md Safi Islam and Central Vice President Shamim Ahmed were present as chief guests.
Leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal from various institutions also participated.
Kabi Nazrul Government College Chhatra Dal organized a protest march in Old Dhaka in support of the blockade.
Another faction of Chhatra Dal conducted a protest march in Dhanmondi following the successful blockade.
Another faction, led by Chhatra Dal's former secretary general and BNP Executive Committee member Iqbal Hossain Shyamal, organized a road blockade and procession in Rampura.
The demonstrators blocked the highway from Rampura Bridge to Merul Badda.
Dhaka University Chhatra Dal leaders and activists also participated in the protest march.
