Janmashtami: Roads to avoid on Wednesday

  • Procession to start at 3pm 
  • DMP issues traffic advisory

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a directive on vehicular movement for the peaceful holding of a Janmashtami procession in the capital scheduled to be held on Wednesday.

The procession will start at Dhakeshwari Temple at around 3pm and end at Bahadur Shah Park at 5pm after parading different city streets, according to a DMP press release issued on Tuesday.

The DMP urged all vehicle users and drivers to avoid these areas during the procession to keep the roads traffic-free.

The routes of the procession are Dhakeshwari Temple-Palashi Mor-Jagannath Hall-Central Shaheed Minar-Doel Chattar-High Court-Sarkari Karmachari Hospital-Phoenix Road (ahead of the Bangladesh Police headquarters)-Golap Shah Mazar-Bangabandhu Square-Gulistan- Nawabpur Road-Ray Shaheb Bazar Mor-Bahadur Shah Park.
