A case has been filed against Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists in Shahbagh police station in connection with the attack and vandalism at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Shahbagh junction around the ambulance carrying Jamaat-e-Islami leader and convicted war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayedee.
The case, filed on Wednesday night at Shahbagh police station, includes allegations of obstructing government operations, physical assault, and vehicle arson. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Division of Police Muhammad Ashraf Hossain confirmed the information.
The police filed the case as the plaintiff. Thousands of leaders and activists have been accused in this case.
The case statement outlines that the accused engaged in assault causing both general and grievous harm, as well as arson, all while obstructing police duties by using sticks, bricks, and other objects in a pre-planned and unlawful conspiracy.
Sayedee passed away on Monday night while undergoing treatment at BSMMU. He was 83.
He died at the hospital at 8:40pm.
