BNP leaders and activists reportedly set two buses ablaze and tried to light another one on fire in the Matuail area of Dhaka on Saturday during the party's sit-in, held at different entry points of the capital to ram home the party's demand for a neutral government during the general election.
However, no one was injured as the buses of Swades Paribahan and Tisha Coach were parked beside the road and empty at the time.

Police were able to bring the situation under control after clashing for about an hour and detained several BNP leaders and activists.
Awami League leaders were spotted in the area later in the day.
Former Chhatra League leader Shafiqul Islam said they had taken to the streets to "deal with the situation."
"BNP men are not here anymore; the situation is somewhat normal now. The movement of vehicles has also returned to normal."
