Rampura grid substation's transformer installation postponed

New work schedule to be announced later

Transformer installation at the Rampura grid substation has been suspended due to unavoidable reasons, according to a notice from the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

Earlier, the Power Division started the initiative of installing a transformer to increase the capacity of the Rampura grid substation.

The installation was scheduled to continue from July 16 to July 22, according to a previous notice.

It also mentioned that the supply of electricity in some areas of Dhaka will likely be disrupted during the period due to the installation work. 

However, in another notice issued around 1:45pm, it informed that the work has been postponed.

According to the old release, the installation of a new 230/132KV, 450 MVA transformer to increase the capacity of the Rampura grid substation of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB) will continue from 7am on July 16 to 5pm on July 22. “For this, some areas under Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) and Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (Desco) may experience partial power outages for the next seven days.”

The new work schedule will be notified later, the latest notice added.
