Police have recovered the body of a schoolgirl from Dhaka’s Gulshan area.
The deceased was identified as Sana Rezwan, a sixth-grader at Sunbeams School in Uttara.
Her body was recovered in front of a house at road no 41 in Gulshan 2 on Friday night and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
Gulshan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hasan said: "We have learned from Sana’s family that she committed suicide by jumping from her flat on the tenth floor of a 12-storey building.”
However, more details on whether it was suicide or not would be revealed after investigation, he added.
According to the DMCH sources, postmortem reports are required to understand the cause of death. The authorities also collected samples to see if she was raped before death.
