Students of 7 Dhaka University-affiliated colleges blocked Dhaka's Nilkhet intersection on Tuesday to press home their seven-point demand.
Students blocked the Nilkhet intersection since 11:30am on Tuesday, leading to significant traffic congestion in the Nilkhet intersection area.
This congestion has caused inconvenience for candidates appearing in the undergraduate first-year admission test at Jahangirnagar University as well.
Meanwhile, a 10-member delegation met with Supriya Bhattacharya, coordinator of 7 DU-affiliated college and principal of Eden College, around 12:30pm to press home their demands.
At the time of writing this report at 2:50pm, the students occupied the Nilkhet intersection, while police officers were observed maintaining a presence in the vicinity.
Taslim Chowdhury, coordinator of the students' movement, said: "We have met with Supriya Ma'am who has assured us of fulfilling our demands. A meeting is scheduled to discuss this matter. To ensure a favorable outcome, we have decided to continue our presence at Nilkhet."
