Update : 21 May 2023, 03:46 PM

A Dhaka court on Sunday fixed June 20 for the submission of the probe report in a case filed in connection with 25 deaths in a blast at Gulistan's Siddikbazar on March 7.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Farah Diba Chhanda fixed the fresh date as the investigation officer of the case could not submit it on Sunday.

Earlier on April 11, the Dhaka court fixed Sunday for report submission in the case.

The deadly explosion occurred in the basement of a seven-storey building, housing sanitary hardware stores, at around 4:50pm on March 7.

The explosion led to the deaths of 25 individuals, with the building, up to the third floor, severely damaged.

The blast shattered the building's wall, throwing items stored inside out onto the street. A bus parked on the opposite side of the building was also damaged, along with several neighbouring buildings.

Police filed the case at Bangshal police station after the blast incident, accusing unknown parties of negligence.

After the filing of the case, the two owners of the building, Wahidur Rahman and Matiur Rahman, and Mintu, a sanitary dealer in the basement of the building, were shown arrested.

They were subsequently remanded for interrogation. Currently, Mintu is out on bail, while Wahidur Rahman and Motiur Rahman are in jail.
