Bangladesh Army chief embarks on 3-day visit to India

He is scheduled to pay courtesy call to various high-ranking Indian officials to talk about strengthening bilateral relations and exploring potential collaborations

Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed departed Dhaka on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to India, accepting an invitation from Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande.

According to an ISPR press release, the army chief will participate in a parade salute as the chief guest at the passing-out ceremony of commissioned officers at the Commissioned Officers Training Academy in Chennai.

General SM Shafiuddin is scheduled to pay a courtesy call to various high-ranking Indian officials, including the chief of defence staff, chief of army staff, chief of naval staff, chief of air staff, defence secretary, and foreign secretary.

The discussions will revolve around strengthening bilateral relations and exploring potential collaborations.

Furthermore, General Shafiuddin will tour various key establishments belonging to the Indian army. 

He is set to return to Bangladesh on April 30.
