Hundreds of Muslim devotees on Monday gathered at Aftabnagar L Block playground in Dhaka to offer a special prayer for rain as the heatwave continues to batter people's lives.
Maulana Ahmadullah led the prayer as the Imam. After the prayer, he supplicated for relief from the heat and for Allah's mercy in the form of rain.
He also urged everyone to perform special prayers, asking for rain, in their respective areas.

A severe heatwave is sweeping across Dhaka, Faridpur, Manikganj, Pabna, Bagerhat, Jessore, Chuadanga and Kushtia districts, and a mild to moderate heatwave is making life miserable elsewhere in the country.
