RAB arrested a fugitive convict, who was sentenced to life-term imprisonment in an explosives case, from the Dhaka's Khilgaon area on Friday night.
Lieutenant Colonel Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed, commanding officer (Captain) of RAB-3 said: "On a tip off, RAB-3 members conducted a secret operation near Khidmah Hospital area in Khilgaon and arrested Rajon Mia, 41, from the spot.
RAB sources said: "In 2006, a case was filed under the Explosives Act, 1884 against Rajon in Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj. In 2014, the court sentenced him to lifetime imprisonment, immediately after the verdict he absconded."
According to the case statement, the convict was charged with tender business, extortion, robbery, murder, kidnap and other severe offences.
