The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in coordination with the Dhaka district administration, has started market monitoring at various places in the capital to prevent a rise in commodity prices during Ramadan.
The monitoring drive started on Saturday morning in New Market, Karwan Bazar and Old Dhaka areas.

Earlier, instructions were given to law enforcement agencies to monitor markets during Ramadan so that the commodity price remained steady.
According to the instructions, the DMP adopted new strategies to prevent any artificial crisis in the market and take action against hoarders.
Mehedi Hasan/Dhaka TribuneThe Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) will be active in the field, along with the police.
Intelligence surveillance will also be increased.
