The Centre for Enterprise and Society (CES), ULAB recently organized a webinar titled “Meet the CEO” with Shahir Chowdhury, CEO and co-founder of Shikho, as the guest speaker on Sunday.
Associate Professor Sajid Amit, Director, CES, ULAB moderated the webinar.
It included a live discussion between Shahir Chowdhury and Sajid Amit which revolved around the Edtech industry and Shikho, according to a press release.
Shahir discussed the challenges of starting an Edtech business, the technicalities involved in Edtech and talent management and hiring people.
Shahir Chowdhury grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh and moved to UK for university in 2005. He has over 11 years of experience working in UK financial services, including accountancy, treasury, business planning, and strategy roles. He was previously a director at HSBC, UK's private bank, and a vice president at Barclays Wealth.
He is currently the CEO and co-founder of Shikho.
He holds a BSc Hons Degree in Business Management from Cardiff University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter-holder besides completing the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
Following the discussion, there was a lively Q&A session where students, young professionals, and others asked questions to Shahir Chowdhury on topics related to his experience and expertise.
