Several Dhaka University students have taken position in front of the institution's vice chancellor's residence, demanding the resignation of Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall's provost.
The protest started at around 9:30pm on Thursday.
The agitated students have alleged that the Provost, Dr Nazmun Nahar, did not allow the hall's students to celebrate Saraswati Puja, even though the other halls held several events.
Apart from that, they have also accused Nazmun Nahar of harassing students and mismanagement of the hall.
A student at the spot claimed when a fire incident took place inside the hall, the provost did not visit the place. She also allegedly harasses students by taking screenshots of their Facebook posts.
Meanwhile, Proctor Dr AKM Golam Rabbani met the students and said: “Our students have brought various demands, we are listening to them. The vice chancellor of the university will take the matter into consideration.”
