After the government increased the prices of all fuel oils, public transportation in Dhaka was less than usual.
People were seen waiting on the roads but the busses plying Gabtobli, Mirpur, Uttara, Rampura, and Shahbag areas were packed with passengers.
Rickshaw, CNG-run autorickshaws, human haulers, and ridesharing services have also doubled their fares.
Meanwhile, transport owners are scheduled to meet with the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to discuss an adjustment of fares on Saturday.
