Temporary cattle markets will be set up at 18 areas in Dhaka from July 6, ahead of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha.

The sale of sacrificial animals will continue for five days including Eid day at the markets, DSCC Chief Property Officer Russell Sabrin confirmed on Tuesday.

Besides, buyers will also be able to purchase sacrificial animals from the DNCC Animal Market in Gabtali and the Permanent Market in South city in Sarulia.

Eid-ul-Azha is scheduled to be held on July 10, subject to the sighting of the moon.

Russell Sabrin said as many as eight markets have been booked, except only Amulia and Rahmatganj.

“On the other hand, the main property division of DSCC said that, out of their eight markets, five have been leased and the remaining three are also awaiting,” she added.
