A shoe factory near Ad-Din Women's Medical College Hospital at Jurain, Shyampur of the capital caught fire late Sunday.
According to the local fire service office, the fire broke out at the factory around 11:55pm.
Six firefighting units managed to douse the fire at about 1:30am after nearly an hour of efforts, said Md Rayhan, station officer (media) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
Rayhan said it is not still clear what actually caused the fire. Fortunately, he said, there was no casualty in the incident.
Asked about the extent of damage caused by the fire, he said it is yet to be assessed
