Update : 07 Jul 2022, 09:43 PM

Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) has decided to increase the price of water by 5% per unit (1000 litres) for both residential and commercial users.

The decision was taken at a virtual meeting of the Wasa Board of Directors on Thursday, said Wasa Board Member Deep Azad.

Deep Azad, who is also secretary general of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), told Bangla Tribune: “The new price of water will be effective from September.”

The meeting also decided not to allow Dhaka Wasa Managing Director Taqsem A Khan to work from the United States.

Golam Mostafa, chairman of the Wasa Board, said Taksim A Khan had asked the Wasa board for permission to work from the United States for two months after Eid.

Later, he took a leave of absence to go to the United States.
