Dhaka residents breathe in fresh air on Eid day

Residents of Dhaka have finally got a chance to breathe in fresh air during Eid-ul-Fitr festivities.

The capital's Air Quality Index (AQI) score was recorded at 21 at 11am on Tuesday.

Experts say about 10 million people left the capital to celebrate the Eid holidays with their loved ones in native villages. As a result, the major sources of air pollution are now shut down. 

The morning rain has been an added benefit in this regard.

According to IQ Air, an international air quality organization based in the US and Switzerland, the air quality index in Dhaka was 21 from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday. 

At that time, there were 5 micrograms per cubic meter of "PM 2.5", which is very harmful to the human body, in the air. According to experts, this level is "good".
