A former deputy secretary of cultural affairs of Dhaka’s Kabi Nazrul Govt College Chhatra League unit has been accused of issuing a threat to the college administration if it celebrated Pohela Boishakh during Ramadan.
Sorwar Hossain Jibon made a Facebook post on Wednesday, saying: “If there is any kind of [Pohela] Boishakh celebration at the college tomorrow (Thursday) in this holy month, the administration will be held accountable.”
The principal of the college, Amena Begum, told the Bangla daily Samakal that police had been notified about the threat.
