Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a suspect in the murder of Awami League leader Jahidul Islam Tipu and college student Samia Afrin Prity.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Faruk Hossain told Bangla Tribune that an arrest was made before adding that further details will be divulged at a press call later in the day.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday said it had found several leads in the killings and had interrogated a number of people in this connection.

On Thursday night, assailants arriving on motorcycle opened fire at Tipu’s car on the street under the flyover in the capital’s Shahjahanpur area. Bystander Prity, 22, died after a stray bullet hit her.
