A sub-inspector (SI) of Shahbagh police station was stabbed by an unidentified person near Gulistan TNT office in Dhaka on Tuesday night.
The injured was identified as Jahangir Hossain, 48.
Locals took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment, Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge inspector of DMCH police outpost, confirmed to Dhaka Tribune.
SI Jahangir went to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Old Dhaka, and was walking back home when an unidentified man stabbed him in the back and fled the scene immediately, according to rescuer Abu Saeed Hassan.
