A woman and her two sons were killed and three others were injured in a head-on collision between an autorickshaw and a car in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka late on Friday.
The deceased are Piyara Begum, 45, and her sons Chhoton Khan, 18, and Nasib Khan, 22 — all of whom were passengers of the autorickshaw.
The three injured, including Piyara’s husband Nasir Khan, are now undergoing treatment at different local hospitals.
Chhoton was brought in dead at Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex, said Dr Shayla Jasmine Jessie of the hospital, adding that critically injured Piyara and Nasir were pronounced dead after being taken to Enam Medical College Hospital.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Mofizur Rahman of Dhamrai police station said the bodies were sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Police have seized the car and the three-wheeler, he added.
