A worker died at a Dhaka hospital on Sunday, three days after sustaining critical burn injuries in a fire that gutted a scrap warehouse in the Rampura area.
The deceased was identified as Md Helal Uddin, 50, of Rajbari.
Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said Helal, who was undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) with 85% burn injuries, died at around 1:30pm.
He was among five workers who sustained burns after the warehouse near Bou Bazar Matir Mosque in Rampura caught fire on Thursday following a cylinder explosion.
On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.
The four other injured are Md Yusuf, 50, Md Siddique, 50, Nur Nabi, 51, and Nader, 45. They are still undergoing treatment at SHNIBPS.
