Rakib, a 14-year-old boy, was rammed and killed by two buses competing to overtake one another in the capital on Thursday.
Rakib, a hawker, used to sell masks in Maghbazar area of the city.
After he was rammed by the competing buses, he was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) by another hawker. The duty doctor declared him dead.
Local people said that the buses of Azim Paribahan were running recklessly on the road. At one point they ran over Rakib, leaving him severely injured on the road.
Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, confirmed the incident to Dhaka Tribune.
