Police have recovered the body of a 6-year-old boy 16 hours after he went missing in Pubail union of Gazipur.
The deceased was identified as Shihab, son of Jewel Miah of Majukhan village under Pubail police station.
The body was found in front of local Salam Munshi’s house at around 6am on Sunday, said Mahidul Islam, OC of Pubail police station.
Jewel Miah said his son went missing on Saturday afternoon. The family made announcements through loudspeakers at different parts of Pubail till late at night in attempts to find the child.
Later on Saturday night, Jewel Miah filed a general diary (GD) with Pubail police station.
OC Mohidul said locals found the child’s body on Sunday morning and informed police.
Shihab’s parents have been separated for seven months. He used to live with his father at Majukhan village. The child’s body has been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
