A court here on Sunday placed Manjurul Hasan Babu alias Yaba Babu alias Blade Babu, 22, on a three-day remand in a case lodged over the gruesome murder of one Shahin Uddin in capital’s Pallabi area on May 16.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mondal passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and investigation officer (IO) and detective branch inspector Syed Iftekhar Hossain pleaded to place him on a five-day remand.

Police arrested Babu from Mirpur-12 Lal Math area on July 24.
Shahin Uddin was mercilessly hacked to death in broad daylight on May 16, in front of his son, after being called to resolve a land dispute. His mother Aklima Begum filed the case with Pallabi police station on May 17.
