A motor-parts shop in Bhasantek area of the capital was robbed and body of a security guard of the building, was recovered from Sher-e-Bangla nagar area on Sunday morning.
The shop, Anik Motors, was robbed around 3:30am and police recovered the body of the guard, Sujon Mia, 40, from 60-feet area of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the morning with an injury on his head and a scarf tied up around his neck.
Confirming the matter, Delwar Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhasantek police station said cops are suspecting that either the security guard was trying to obstruct the robbers from entering or he might have recognized them, as a result the robbers killed him.
After Sujon was found, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station officials rushed him to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the morning where doctors pronounced him dead, Delwar said.

"A case has been filed with my station by the shop owner Abdur Rahim Dewan for dacoity [robbery] along with murder under section 396 of the 1860's penal code," the Bhasantek OC added.
He told this correspondent that investigation is underway and police might have a breakthrough anytime.
The incident of robbery was mysterious as all five locks of the shop were still locked, said the OC.
The shop is situated on the ground floor of a five-storey building. The robbers somehow managed to go inside and stole 12 new and 15 old batteries meant to be used in cars or auto rickshaws. They also took Tk55,000 from the shop, said Delwar.
