3-day women’s film festival begins

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nesa Indira urged entrepreneurs and the government to encourage women filmmakers

A three-day film festival- featuring six movies made by women film directors - started on Saturday in Dhaka ahead of International Womens' Day. 

The festival is organized by Bangladesh International Film Movement.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nesa Indira inaugurated the festival at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. 

While inaugurating the festival, Indira called on entrepreneurs and the government to encourage more women filmmakers.

Kohinoor Akhter Suchanda's "Hazar Bochhor Dhore," Nargis Akhter's "Meghla Akash," Samia Zaman's "Rani Kuthir Baski Itihash," Moushumi's "Kokhn o Megh Kokhn o Brishti," Shahnewaz Kakoli's "Uttorer Shur" and Nanziba Khan's "The Wanted Twin"- will be screened at the festival.
