A mother was killed and her daughter injured, in Dhaka, when a bus ran over the two while they were crossing a road.
The incident occurred in front of Matsya Bhaban at around 4:30pm on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Rizia Khatun, 60.
Talking to Dhaka Tribune, Rina Khatun, 30, the injured daughter, said: “Mother and I were returning home to Mirpur. When we were crossing the road in front of Matsya Bhaban a bus ran over her, injuring me.
“Then I, with the help of some bystanders, took mother to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors declared her dead.”
Bacchu Miah, inspector of Dhaka Medical College police outpost, said: “The body of the deceased has been kept in the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.”
