Two people have been killed in separate road accidents in the capital on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Ripon Ali, 18, and Jahidul, 30.
Gulshan police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Mosharaf Hossain said Ripon fell off a Kuril bound truck on the main road opposite the Bashundhara Gate and severely hurt his head. He was a helper of the truck.

He was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a critical condition at around 3:45 am. The duty doctor declared him dead upon examination.
Ripon’s family took away his dead body on Thursday afternoon after the autopsy. The truck was seized by police but its driver is still absconding, the SI further said.
Meanwhile, Jahidul, a truck labourer, was severely injured in a road accident that occurred on KM Das Lane in Tikatuli under Wari police station.
The doctor on duty at DMCH declared him dead after he was taken there at 1:30am.
At the request of Jahidul’s family, Wari police station SI Mizanur Rahman handed over the dead body to the relatives without an autopsy.
