Fire at Banani high-rise

It took around an hour for eight firefighting units to put out the blaze

A high-rise in Dhaka's Banani area caught fire on Sunday which took eight firefighting units around an hour to put out.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

The fire started on the 14th floor of 22-storey Ahmed Tower at 11:34am, said Fire Service and Civil Defence control room Duty Officer Ershad Hossain.

Eight firefighting units rushed to the spot and put out the blaze at 12:22pm, he added.

The cause of fire could not be known immediately.

Ahmed Tower is located beside the FR Tower where 26 people were killed and more than 70 others injured in a deadly fire on March 27, 2019.
