A six-member delegation led by Border Security Force (BSF) Director General (DG) has arrived in Dhaka to attend the four-day BGB-BSF DG level conference.
Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) DG Major General Md Shafeenul Islam received BSF DG Rakesh Asthana, said in a press release on Wednesday.
The formal meeting of the BGB-BSF DG-level border conference will begin on Thursday around 10:45am in the conference room of the BGB headquarters in Dhaka.
A 13-member Bangladesh delegation, led by BGB DG, will participate in the conference. Apart from the Additional Director General of BGB and the concerned staff officers of the BGB headquarters, the concerned officials of the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Joint River Commission, and Land Records and Survey Department will also present at the conference.
Meanwhile, the conference will be attended by a six-member Indian delegation, led by BSF DG Rakesh Asthana. The Indian delegation includes senior officials from the BSF headquarters and officials from the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs and External Affairs.
The delegations of the two countries will discuss various issues related to the mutual border at the conference.
The Border Conference will end on September 19 around 8:30am with the signing of the JRD-Joint Record of Discussions. The BSF delegation will leave Dhaka on the same day.
