A crude bomb, locally known as cocktail, has been recovered from the motorbike of a policeman in Dhaka on Saturday.
The bomb disposal unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was called in after a sergeant noticed a bomb-like material in a bag hanging on his motorcycle in Gulistan, said OC Md Sentu Miah of the Paltan police station.
“The sergeant parked his bike near the Bangabandhu Square around 9.30pm. He returned a few minutes later to find a bag hanging on the bike with a bomb-like material inside,” he said.
The bomb disposal unit was called in when a crude bomb, widely known as cocktail, was found inside the bag. A detonator was also found, said OC Miah.
Later the cocktail was destroyed by the bomb squad, he said before adding no arrests were made over the incident.
