The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Bangladesh Police has allegedly arrested a member of the banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from Hazaribagh in the capital.
He was arrested during a drive conducted by the law enforcement agency on Friday night, according to a press statement on Saturday.
The arrestee is Wali Ullah, 52, son of Jalal Uddin Sarkar of Nazirpur upazila in Pirojpur.
According to the statement, five to six more militants made their escape during the police operation.
