Qatar Airways has temporarily closed its Dhaka office to ensure safety and security of the passengers and its employee amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The state-owned flag carrier of Qatar also requested the passengers to buy or book the ticket online and over the phone.
“As the safety and security of our customers and employees is our top priority, we have temporarily closed the office to maintain social distancing and now politely request all passengers to call or email us to help with their bookings,” says a statement on Wednesday.
Qatar Airways has received approval to operate flights to and from Bangladesh from June 16, operating 3 flights per week.
As there has been a high demand from customers looking for tickets, a large number of people came to Dhaka office to book tickets and unfortunately did not follow strict social distancing, the statement said.
The Airways decided to close its office to book tickets online.
