Police on Tuesday recovered a decomposed body of an unidentified woman from an abandoned building in Dhaka’s Sabujbagh area.
Sabujbag police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Rabindranath Sarkar confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said: “We have recovered a decomposed body of a woman, who was most probably in her 30s, from the basement of a building in the capital’s Sabujbagh area on Tuesday night.
“The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.”
“The body might have been left there five to seven days ago,” he suspected.
Police filed a case in this regard.
“We have collected evidence from the scene of the crime and are waiting for the autopsy report. We are investigating from all angles.”
