No one involved in human trafficking will be spared, said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General (DG) Abdullah Al-Mamun.

“What happened in Libya is tragic. We have already arrested the mastermind behind it and we will not spare anybody,” said Mamun.

He made the remark while informing the media about their app for keeping RAB members updated with detailed information about Covid-19 cases within RAB forces.

At the same event, RAB also provided financial aid to the families of four deceased journalists who lost their lives to Covid-19.

The RAB DG mentioned that they are conducting drives across the country to catch the human traffickers.

About helping journalists’ families, he said: “We do not want anybody to lose their relatives and we don’t want to arrange such kinds of programs. We will continue to stand beside journalists.”

RAB Additional Director General (operation) Col Tofayel Mustafa Sorwar said: “We are trying to make a model of treating Covid-19 patients.”

“We took several initiatives to ensure that there is no overflow of patients in the hospitals. We have made temporary hospitals by renting community centres,” he added.

RAB Director (legal and media) Lieutenant Col Sarwar Bin Kashem, Crime Reporters' Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) President Abul Khair, and its General Secretary Asaduzzaman Biku, were also present at the program.

As many as 275 RAB personnel have tested Covid-19 positive so far, according to RAB officials.

Of them, 53 have already recovered and no RAB official has died of Covid-19 till now.
