BNP Dhaka north unit GS dies from Covid-19

He tested positive for Covid-19 three days back but was forced to return to his Ashulia village residence, having failed to get admitted to any hospital in the capital

Ahsanullah Hasan, general secretary of Dhaka north city unit BNP, has died from coronavirus at the age of 65.

He breathed his list around 9:40pm Sunday night while undergoing treatment at Shahabuddin Medical College and Hospital, informed BNP Dhaka North city unit office secretary ABMA Razzaq, reports UNB.

Hasan tested positive for Covid-19 three days ago but was forced to return to his Ashulia village residence, having failed to get admitted to any hospital in the capital, said Razzaq.

As his condition worsened with severe breathing problems, Hasan was brought to Shahabuddin Hospital in Dhaka’s Gulshan area on Sunday morning.                         

The BNP leader is survived by his wife, two sons, and a host of relatives and well-wishers.

Hasan had accomplished much during his political career. He contested the 11th parliamentary polls from Dhaka-10 seat with BNP’s ticket. He was elected commissioner of undivided Dhaka City Corporation’s Mirpur 6-no ward thrice. He was also made BNP’s Dhaka North City unit general secretary om April 19, 2017.

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock at his death.

In separate condolences messages, they prayed for the salvation of his departed soul and conveyed their profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
