DNCC anti-mosquito drive: Houses, establishments fined Tk57,000

The mobile courts also issued warnings to some house owners for failing to cooperate with the city corporation authorities in controlling Aedes mosquitoes

Mobile courts have fined owners of 12 houses and other establishments Tk57,000 as larvae of Aedes mosquito was found on their premises in different parts of the city under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).  

The mobile courts conducted drives in Uttara, Mirpur-2, Mahakhali, Mirpur-10 and Karwan Bazar areas from 10am to 12pm on Wednesday as part of a combing operation to prevent dengue outbreak, said a press release. 

During the drive, DNCC officials visited 2150 houses, other establishments and under-construction buildings, reports UNB.

It also issued warnings to some house owners for failing to cooperate with the city corporation authorities in controlling Aedes mosquitoes.

In a bid to protect the city dwellers from dengue, the DNCC launched the combing operation from Saturday and conducted the mobile court drives alongside it. 

The mobile court drives that started from May 10 have so far realised Tk3,05,300 in fines, according to the statement.
