3 burned to death in Pallabi fire

The incident took place early Saturday

Three people have been burned to death as a fire broke out at a house in Pallabi area of Dhaka's Mirpur. 

The incident took place at house number 10, road 16, block D of section 11 under Pallabi police station, early Saturday.

Fire Service and Civil Defence officer Lima Khanom said, the fire originated from a mosquito coil at a tin-shed house in Bauniabad area at 4:17am and it burned down three small shacks.

On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 6:30am.

Later, they recovered three charred bodies from one of the houses, she said.

The deceased are Kolpona Begum, 35, Jannat, 13, and Kauser, 7.

Police have sent the dead bodies to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, confirmed Sub-Inspector Shafikur Rahman.

Sohrawardy Medical Hospital morgue sources said, the three dead bodies have been released for the family to take them for burial. However, the post-mortem reports could not be obtained as of yet.
