The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday celebrated the beginning of Mujib Borsho, or Mujib Year, marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, by undertaking different programs.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen inaugurated a “Bangabandhu Corner” on the ground floor of the main building of the ministry.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and other officials of the ministry were present on the occasion.
The corner will include photos of Bangabandhu with world leaders, monitors to display documentaries on him and books.
Bangladesh’s missions abroad have also been directed to set up Bangabandhu Corners.
The foreign minister also launched a human resources management software called MANOS, which is the short version of manabsompod (human recourses). The beta version of MANOS is ready to be released and the final version of the software will be ready by June.
When fully functional, MANOS will provide the government with all necessary data on the human resources at the headquarters and the missions.
In the evening, the ministry celebrated the start of Mujib Borsho with the heads of diplomatic missions, United Nations agencies and other international organizations on the premises of the state guesthouse Padma.
Foreign Minister Momen, State Minister Shahriar, Foreign secretary Masud and other officials were present on the occasion. A cake was cut to celebrate the event.
