Another victim of the Dilu road building fire, Jannatul Ferdous, 40, has died at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn And Plastic Surgery.

She died around 9:35am on Sunday.

The hospital's Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Partha Sarker Pal confirmed the matter.

Her husband AKM Shahidul Kirmany Rony, 40, has been put on life support.

The couple's only child, five-year-old Rushdi, died at the spot. He was later identified by his grandfather AKM Shahidullah as rescuers had a hard time while identifying the victim since he was burnt beyond recognition.

Meanwhile, Shahidul sustained 43% burns, whereas his wife Jannatul suffered 95% burns on her body in the deadly fire.

At least three people, including Rushdi, died after a fire broke out in a five-storey building in Dhaka's Dilu Road area in Eskaton around 4am on Thursday, while the residents of the building were sleeping.

Nine others were also injured in the incident. Among them, two suffered from severe burn injuries, while four had respiratory complications due to the smoke, and the others got injured trying to escape from the fire.

A probe body formed by Fire Service and Civil Defence, after primary investigation suspect that the fire had its origin in the garage. However, the precise cause of the fire and from where it started is yet to be confirmed.
