Several citizen platforms will meet at Shahbagh intersection today at 5pm to protest the recent Banani rape and demand immediate arrest of the accused.
The protesters are also demanding exemplary punishment of the rapists.
Gonojagoron Moncho Spokesman Imran H Sarker told the Dhaka Tribune: “Our activists will protest the rape by holding a human chain and a protest rally. We will hold a bigger protest on Friday to express our condemnation to rape and sexual violence.”
Also, a students-teachers-writers-artists-journalists-cultural activists’ platform will meet at Shahbagh for the same cause at 5pm. This protest has been convened by prominent activist and academician Gitiara Nasreen.
