BNP-endorsed mayoral candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Ishraque Hossain will announce his polls manifesto on Monday, focusing on planned infrastructural development, mosquito control and proper waste management.

He revealed this to journalists, before starting his electioneering from a local madrasa at Faridabad in Old Dhaka on Friday.

“I’ve been speaking of a number of civic inconveniences including the suffering due to lack of coordination among utility agencies, mosquito menace and poor management of waste. I’ll put them on my manifesto,” he said.

“Since the government has no accountability to the people, I believe the ruling-party backed mayoral candidate would be able to do nothing for the residents of DSCC,” he said.

During the campaign, he was accompanied by Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, among other top leaders of the DSCC unit’s 20-party alliance.
