A fire broke out at a plastic factory at Hazaribagh in Dhaka in the early hours of Friday.
The blaze started at the factory in Loharpul area around 1:38am, said Ershad Hossain, a duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.
Six firefighting units rushed to the spot and were working to douse the flame, he said.
How the fire started was yet to be determined, Ershad said, adding that no casualties were reported immediately.
Earlier, on December 11, a devastating fire — sparked by a gas cylinder explosion — had gutted the Prime Pet and Plastic Industry factory in Keraniganj’s Chunkutia, leaving one worker killed on the spot and at least 34 others injured, many with critical burns.
The death toll from the fire reached 22 until December 21.
