Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) authorities have formed a medical board to provide better treatment for the five now undergoing treatment following an attack on them at DU campus on Sunday.
“A nine-member committee has been formed today (Monday),” DMCH DG Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin told the Dhaka Tribune.
On Sunday, a total of 28 people including Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur were taken to DMCH after they were attacked allegedly by activists of Chhatra League and Muktijuddha Mancha.
“None of them are on life support. One of them, Tuhin Farabi, was given artificial ventilation because of breathing problems, but was transferred to ICU on Sunday because of pressure of patients in general cabins,” said the DG responding to a question.
The committee members from all disciplines of Dhaka Medical College already visited the patients individually on Monday, and will check with them on Tuesday, he added.
“The committee will take final decision regarding the five patients on Tuesday,” said DG Nasir.
