Military Secretary to the Prime Minister Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin Bir Bikram has passed away at a hospital in Singapore on Tuesday.
He died at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore at 5:15pm local time, according to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) release.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President Abdul Hamid expressed profound shock at the death of Major General Zainul Abedin.
In separate condolence messages, they prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
“Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin was a faithful and skilled military officer ... at his death, the country has lost an efficient military officer,” the president said.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud too mourned the death of prime minister’s military secretary.
